Transforming The Difficult Child: The Nurtured Heart Approach ,
by Howard Glasser, MA and Jennifer Easley, MA
This book is very good at getting you to see how to use the positive
instead of negative with difficult children (or any children). It didn't
"fix" our problem and it's a hard method to follow, but I learned a lot
from reading it and I try to use some of the suggestions and see them
working as my daughter is more stable. |

Busy But Balanced , by Mimi Doe
Broken up by months, Mimi gives you essays and ideas on how to be
calm and rational in our stressed and overscheduled world. |
 |
Playful Parenting , by Lawrence J. Cohen, PhD
My favorite parenting book of all time. This book will help you see
the positive, the times when you can intervene and have fun instead of
have a fight. A must read! |

Non-Violent Communication by Marshall B. Rosenberg
An excellent tool for dealing with anyone. Takes the basic "I"
statement to a new high. A search on Amazon.com revealed many other
books around NVC, some by the same author and some not. There is one by
Rosenberg for parents! |

Mitten Strings For God , by Katrina Kenison
A beautiful collection of essays on many subjects affecting mothers
in the 21st century. |

Row, Row, Row Your Boat : A Guide for Living Life in the Divine Flow, by
Stephen Lane Taylor
Written by a good friend of mine, this book is short and easy to read
but may change how you look at life. Sometime humorous, sometimes not,
this book will have you thinking about the 'flow' of your life and are
you rowing gently down your stream? |

Kids Are Worth It! by Barbara Coloroso
An excellent book on parenting which does away with punishment and
reward systems. Instead, Barbara give us ways to parent and honor our
children and allowing them to make mistakes and endure natural
consequences for themselves |

Working with Anxious, Nervous, and Depressed Children by Dr. Henning
Kohler
This is a Waldorf book with an unfortunate title. I have heard many people say it's one of
the best they have read. You will need an open mind for this one. This
title should be available from the
Rudolf Steiner College Bookstore |
